Ideally I'd like to get an 8-port KVM and still make this month's mortgage payment, but the math doesn't work out. Amazon's cheapest 8-port (with HDMI and USB) is $400, with the high-end models around $3,000. So scratch that idea.

I don't know if it would work in your situation, but I have a Logitech
Ergo K860 Keyboard and a M720 Triathlon mouse that connect to up to 3
computers using the Logitech Unifying Receiver or Bluetooth. A unifying
receiver can connect up to 6 devices to one computer. I also have a
monitor with multiple inputs.
