Teaching stuff again!

I've been discussing with several people the possibility of my running my
computer science overview again, but this time targetted at beginners. This
is something I'm considering, but while I'm thinking about it, I wonder if
more people might be interested in a one-off workshop to "get your feet wet"
in this whole "telling the computer what to do" thing.

If there is interest (from those who have expressed interest in the CS
course, or from others who just wonder what this "telling the computer to do
stuff" bit that many of us do is all about), I am considering running
a one-evening shell workshop. This would be geared to absolute beginners
(well, knowledge of how to turn on a computer and mouse around is probably
a good idea). If you've ever wondered what the heck that "terminal"
nonsense is about, or you know but you'd like to be able to glue it all
together in more interesting ways, this would be the workshop for you.

The idea would be to run a workshop open to the public (and free of cost, of
course), so if you think you know someone who would be interested, let them
know. Anyone who is interested, let me know what evenings are good for you.
If there is enough interest, I'll announce a time.
