Thank you all
I was not successful in getting java to work.
I was reading in another forum where it eluded to webex not working
well in Ubuntu 11.10. Yet.

I am thinking I am going to down grade to 10 LTS.

As a workstation that I need to use it must be solid.
I really want this to work, I know that it is my inexperience that is
keeping from succeeding.

I am in great company.
I thank you all for your patience.

Should it not work, I will have to go to plan 'A****'.

If you do not currently have synaptic installed, it may be worth your while to do so - many similar instructions assume you have synaptic installed. Just remember that there is synaptic the package manager, and synaptic touchpad drivers - so you need to have an eye to keep them straight.

With gdebi installed, the package will just get (graphically) installed automagically, all but hands free. Perhaps useful to you.
