What did the local MPs in KW say about this issue when you
wrote/called/visited them?  Ask them about details on the fact that
circumvention of a TPM (and access to tools to do so) would be required to
do independant research.

This should be an ongoing conversation with MPs, especially those who have
expressed confusion as to who has the least respect for the relevant rights
of the relevant owners (IE: that the disrespect for the rights of
technology owners  is worse than the alleged disrespect for the rights of
copyright owners).

My local Liberal MP has no influence on this file, so my constant keeping
him updated doesn't impact this policy.  You folks in KW are in a very
different situation.
