I get the impression that how people view the difference between print
magazines and content from the internet has a lot to do with their age.
Younger people who have grown up with the internet tend to view print
media as "deprecated". Older folks, including myself, get news from the
web, but still have a soft-spot/need for large-format printed matter.
And not just because of bad eyesight.

Really, it is difficult to beat the clay-coated pages of a National
Geographic. There many aspects of a hard magazine that the web will not
be able to capture in the near future: colour, resolution, layout,
portability, robustness, accessibility...

I agree with Raul that there is some life left for the magazine.
