Cause it feels that way, on the desktop. Gnome on top of FreeBSD feels 
like more lines of code from GNU. Mind you, Firefox in there may be a 
ton of code from Mozilla.


I think that we seriously underestimate how seriously our own brains are 
influenced by subconscious calculation of fairness. If a tiny trace of 
unfairness is detected, you don't have enough brain resources to 
program, or to program good, efficiently, etc.

GPL is better to contributor's rights-n-powers than BSD. There is less 
possible unfairness down the line.

It may feel like a loss of percentage points, multiply it by number of 
people, multiply by number of things to attend. At this point we may 
argue that push towards anything contributor friendly becomes a proper 
thing to do.
