Oh the bright side, I was carded at the last HackerNest meetup at TextNow.
 (the "proof of age because we are serving alcohol" kind of carding not the
"police racial profiling" type of carding)

So I probably can be a "cultural fit" for another couple years and I do
have a beard and like memey nerd tshirts, but I can't absorb "Craft IPAs"
to the same degree that I could 20 years ago, and maturity does have a way
of modifying your previously idealistic worldview.  And family
responsibilities, I can't be an 18 hour/day codebot/adminbot, even if there
are catered lunch and dinners.  But yeah.

My experience with a larger startup in Waterloo was very positive - and
they did give back (I believe there were some small code contributions and
they did donate to a few things) and they definitely were not age-ist nor
discriminated in any other way.  Was a really cool place to work.  So they
aren't all bad, that's for sure.
