iirc OSMC runs Kodi on top of a full Debian installation which is kind of overkill for the RPi2. I had a similar set up with my RPi2 and OSMC but after experiencing significant performance issues I wound up switching to OpenELEC and haven't had any problems since, aside for occasional issues with my IR blaster and universal remote set up (which was just incredibly cheap and not well thought out).

I think OSMC just isn't really optimized for the RPi hardware... Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I never had a good experience with it.

Sorry for the short response, I'm quickly firing this off before I start work for the day :)
