I find I didn't notice a difference going to an SSD. You don't really
notice the increase in disk performance.

However, after using it for a while, I sure did notice a difference
going back to an HDD. Particularly application launch times, and any
time the system was swapping.

Hmm, I'm running three vertex 3 drives, without issue (including the one
in my laptop I referenced previously). Hopefully that means yours was a
fluke, and not the norm.

My boss had a Mushkin drive fail on him after about two months. They
gave him an RMA without problem and (after receiving his drive) shipped
him a new one. I think it was about a week for the round-trip to Texas.

Unfortunately, he got charged with brokerage and duty from Fedex. He had
to get a copy of the shipping paperwork from Mushkin (which did note it
was a 0-cost warranty replacement), and send that to Fedex. It looks
like the brokerage fees will be cancelled, but it's still a hassle.
