[kwlug-disc] OT: SSD disks?

Thanks to all who replied.

I agree that increasing the RAM in my laptop made a noticeable difference
and breathed new life in it. It was amazing to see no swapping, no slow
downs.

SSD? Not so much. Barely noticed a difference. Maybe faster booting, but
that was it.

Oh, and mine is an OCZ Vertex 4, not an older model.

I went online to OCZ's web site, and filled a form, said the drive died,
and after a couple of mails, they gave me an RMA number, and instructed me
to ship it to them. So I did.

By what Chris says, it seems that the new one is a viable option, not prone
to failure.
