I'm sure I owe you more than a coffee or two from all the times you helped
me out before..

Actually I'm thinking of something along the lines of a WD Live type of
device, where she can catch online shows, plus access the movies on the
shared drive in the basement.  Still haven't decided on a solution yet.
 And still haven't figured out how to run a CAT6 cable up to her TV without
destroying the house...
