So ... Roger's letter is interesting.

It notes the extreme pains taken to evolve the init system last go around.

Why has this (systemd) round been different? [Almost rammed down 
throats, if that's a fair characterization?] Gnome 3 pushing / being 
inextricably linked to <?>? Tablets, phones, and other non-keyboard systems?

 From prior comments in this list, I'm guessing Canonical isn't just 
going to carte blanche switch today.

But without such major commercial funding support, Devuan will have a 
tough go to survive, be relevant, and take over the world from Debian?
