At the risk of capitalism: I was at Computer Recycling yesterday and
saw that Charles as teeny-weeny amd64 computers for as low as $30. I
don't know the exact models or specs (maybe 3rd generation i3?) but
such devices seem like they could be good replacements for Raspberry
Pis in some situations.

If people are interested I am sure Charles could provide more details.
In addition to the really cheap $30 computers there were some for $60
and $70. They also had SFF computers like the one in Chris's link, but
with much lower specs.

It is true that Computer Recycling's target market is people on low
incomes, but they have enough of these units (and they apparently are
not selling well) that they would be happy to sell to you too. They
come with Linux installed so there are no income ceilings.
