I was unable to get the recognize plugin to work.

I see no need to have these files in nextcloud.

If disaster strikes and the immich app is unusable, it stored all my 
photos in date-stamped directories with original filenames:

library/cirwin/2025/2025-10-26/PXL_20251026_193329833.MP.jpg

Google Photos was the big "no good replacement for" service I had.  
Immich is, impressively, superior to Google Photos.

It did take a while to index 150GB of photos, though.
