[kwlug-disc] Nextcloud, ownCloud, ...etc

I am thinking of installing software on my server that
would allow me to sync contacts and calendar.
That way, I lessen the dependency on Google.

As an add on, I would like to sync the photos on my
phone to my server.

Currently, I use the FolderSync Android app, which allows
syncing over SSH. It works, but if I install a private cloud,
then might as well use that instead of bits and pieces
here and there.

Both Nextcloud and ownCloud have clients that are available
in F-Droid, so they are full open source, with no ads, or
pilfering of data.

So, looking for feedback on Nextcloud vs. ownCloud, and
whether there are other tools worth considering.
