[kwlug-disc] To WIFI or not to WIFI

I got lucky with a similar problem a few years ago, when I had to run a
line from one side of the room to the other. Cement floor, so no luck
there, and there was a hallway in the line of fire, so I couldn't just use
those "walk over me" cable cover strip things.

So what I ended up doing was going to Home Depot and buying a bunch of
water pipes and various fittings, then running a fake water line from one
side of the room to the other, along the ceiling, then running the CAT6
line through the pipes. I even threw in a couple of water taps to complete
the look.

Disclaimer, both ends of the pipe ended up against walls that fronted
unfinished rooms (one end was the cold cellar, the other end was the
laundry room), so the actual ends of the pipe were stupid easy to set up.
But the pipe's main stretch was above the dry bar, so it looked great there.
