[kwlug-disc] FSF Warns Us To Stay Away From Various Companies

Since tech privacy is one of my hobbies, I already do this stuff. Although I'll consider Linux on a macbook with apple silicon once my favourite distro supports it. My phone is a Pixel running GrapheneOS, because that's the most secure and private FOSS option I can find.

Here's the problem. When I was growing up as a kid during the cold war, I was told that privacy was a human right in the west, and was told horror stories about the USSR surveillance state. Now that level of surveillance is the default, few question it, and restoring that human right is a time consuming hobby that can only be partially successful. From my perspective, things have got much worse in Ontario even over the last 3 years. Not sure if anybody but true believers are listening to the FSF's warnings.
