Khalid,

I have had a zoneminder server running for many neglected years. I started playing with it and then never really honed it into production, so it just sits there and I go play with it occasionally.

While that's not really helpful to you, I can tell you that my focus recently has been learning about Home Assistant and one of the things I came across was the Frigate plugin.

>From the YouTube videos I have seen on it, I think it is the way I will go when I eventually get serious enough to add cameras to the house. The thing that got my attention was Frigate's ability to do object recognition using local compute. The demos looked awesome in their ability to distinguish stuff like people, cars, animals in the live video streams. (I think this was the first video I saw on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICuWjPp3L9Q but it's become more refined since then even.) Furthermore, if you do it inside of H/A you can trigger other automations from what the cameras pick up.

Anyway, take a look at Home Assistant and Frigate. I think it's really cool.
