I'm more than happy to let this thread rest.  Yet it is hard to overlook
that you have not asked anyone else to stop.

I hope that everyone can see that there is a difference between promoting
free speech and promoting good behaviour, good words, and good manners.
If I defend the right for RMS to speak his mind, I can still defend,
and do defend and promote, the path of love and kindness in words and deeds.

I'm also not fully married to the concept of free speech, as surprising
as that may be to hear.  I believe someday, maybe far in the future,
we will all give it up anyway.  Free speech opens the door to a slippery
slope, and it can be argued that it is not a good thing, only a convenient
thing: a crude legal mechanism to legislate tolerance and patience
with others.  But I am afraid of what will happen to our society if we
do give it up.

Andrew, I will take your request as from a friend, and this will be my
last post on this thread.  I doubt anyone wishes to chat futher on this,
but if so, please email me directly.
