This means Canonical's ill thought out adventures with Unity and Wayland
are over.

No more silly experiments, just use what works.

Canonical learned their lesson, but took them a long time to do so.

I have no use for GNOME myself, and ran KDE for perhaps a decade and a
half, then switched to xfce when they dumbed down things. Both were on xorg
with no issues.
