*What is Maker Expo?*

We would like to officially announce to the mailing list Maker Expo!

We know you've heard the name spoken in hushed tones in dark corners and in
back rooms but now, into the light!

Maker Expo <http://www.makerexpo.ca/> is the evolution of the excellent
2013 Waterloo Region Mini Maker Faire brought to us by Jaymis and others.

Kwartzlab is serving as an incubator of Maker Expo for 2015 and the
Kwartzlab community is 100% why we are doing this. Get involved, show your
maker metal and help us build something both KW and Kwartzlab can be proud
of.

Why Maker Expo?

Because Maker Inc wanted a pile of cash for the license and had some funky
restrictive verbiage in their contract. So the ME team decided to ditch
Maker Inc and re-brand Maker Expo.

When?

September 19th, 2015

Where?

Kitchener City Hall

We are effectively shutting down city hall for this.

The first floor, ours

The front outdoor space, ours

The rear space, ours

The private rooms, ours,

The 10th floor, ours,

The street, ours!

Yup we are shutting down King Street!.

Who?

Why you of course! We are on a hunt for makers for exhibitions, volunteers
and promoters!

Want to be an exhibitor?

Head to MakerExpo.ca <http://makerexpo.ca/> and submit an application. It
is a judged application which follows our diversity model.

Want to be a volunteer?

Do the very same. Only submit a volunteer application at MakerExpo.ca

Want to help promote the event?

Get on that lovely laptop, cell phone, tablet, pigeon or blimp of yours and
blast out the Maker Expo message across all channels!

We are on social media and preparing to go full bore into promotion mode.
