Is this just data storage, or a system drive?

All your data is correctly checsummed, so you can be confident you're
getting correct data, or an error (and thus going to backups). There is
a potential for mdadm to return bad data, especially if you have failing
disks.

Note that RAID5 support in BTRFS is not something I'd recommend
currently. "Raid1" works fine with multiple devices.
