[kwlug-disc] SSH to a VM

It sounds like you forgot to turn on net.ipv4.forwarding. It's strange that you have two subnets, too; wouldn't you have to teach the router and all other devices about the two subnets?
If you put virb0 on the 10/8 subnet what happens?
