I've never been with a major carrier so perhaps I'm a bit naive, but Rogers has a much larger network than Wind. Afaik one doesn't really roam much with Rogers in Canada...

When you're limited to only a few cities like KW, Toronto, Ottawa, etc. you're roaming a lot with Wind. Just take a look at the coverage map. 5c / text, 15c / minute, 5c / MB adds up pretty quickly if you get dumped to a partner tower. This is hardly an issue if you don't travel outside the city much (I only go between KW and Toronto), so you can just disable roaming to mitigate the fees. There's only a 5-10 minute stretch (in good traffic) on the 401 where I have no service.
