I'm hosting a very low traffic site from home. I have a static IP (the reason why I'm on DSL rather than cable at home). I just have my registrar (gandi.net out of France) point to my static IP. The rest is all set up in apache configuration files.

It's not a great idea for a high traffic site, but my DSL seems at little more reliable than most shared hosting packages I've tried.
