Interesting point.  Especially considering the design decisions of
systemd and friends, prioritizing Linux over portability.

But Hurd might not be far away from systemd support.  It is hard for
me to tell from a few Google searches, but it seems like Hurd only
needs cgroup support to have systemd there as well.
