perhaps you mean Xen (hypervisor) instead of OpenStack ? AFAIK Amazon doesn't use OpenStack, the impression I have is that Rackspace is the only big VPS provider that uses it (they pretty much developed it), and it looks more as a work in progress than a mature technology, I may be wrong.
