[kwlug-disc] Palm replacement? Solved

Hi everyone

First thanks to everyone who replied. We have purchased a new phone at Rogers that will do what we need for the time being.

The new phone is a Samsung Corby Pro and I don't believe what we got for $30.00.
The surprise is that it has wifi, FM Radio, web browser and a whole bunch of dudas too much to list here. Amazing consider what we paid for a Palm PDA (twice).

It is also set up to link with Microsoft exchange server. Not too happy about that, but I hope that there will be some FOSS alternatives to this situation. I just hope that the phone is not rigged to only read a secret signal from MES. But because it has wifi and free wifi is everywhere these days, Mary can have some sort of calendar, contact list functions.

The phone did link to Rogers Yahoo mail.

Cheers

John

Sync's to what? Google?
