Bingo!

We have a winner ...

yum.conf has this:

exclude=apache* bind-chroot courier* dovecot* exim* httpd* mod_ssl* mysql*
nsd* perl* php* proftpd* pure-ftpd* ruby* spamassassin* squirrelmail*

And because perl is excluded, it could not be pulled and munin can't be
installed.

The reason is cPanel: it locks the versions of many things (LAMP and related
stuff), and that is why all these issues happen ...
