Yesterday I learned about apt-dater, which allows you to update a
large number of Debian/Ubuntu hosts in parallel. I have not tried it
yet but it looks awesome. 

aptitude/cron-apt + preseeding + apt-dater + puppet/chef +
apt-cacher-ng = holy grail? (Maybe not. Nagios/Munin/Zabbix/... is not
in that equation.) 

I feel quite hurt that KWLUG has been keeping this package a secret from
me for all these years. Why don't you tell me these things? I thought
we had a trusting relationship based on open communication.
