  as in, for those of you who are big fans of the classic book "linux
kernel development (2nd ed)" by robert love, i am apparently at
liberty to mention that there will be a massively-updated third
edition, slated for bookshelf arrival early in the new year. i know
this as i just accepted the position of technical editor for that
third edition.

  and now, the work begins ...
