If codec translation is required, you will need more horsepower in the
hardware department.  With unlimitel though, all your calls come and go
in ulaw so that should not be an issue.  The only difficultiy I see with
doing this on the router is the lack of a GUI-based PBX (trixbox,
Elastix...) so you have to hack the callback routine in Asterisk.  It is
do-able.
