After seeing your response and John's response, I feel like
the Grinch. Must be this eBay fraud ... from a 99.9% positive
eBay seller of over 1400 items!
I popped open the supposed 16GB pendrive and have looked up the chip
number with google ... !$#!@#$!#@$ ... it is 2GB! That sleazy con-artist
is trying to get me to either mail the item back to him ... or to string
me out for 45 days and past the 45 PayPal resolution period.
The emails are full of this phony politeness ... and the eBay "review"
page has totally described the situation:
http://reviews.ebay.ca/Test-a-fake-USB-flash-drive-and-get-a-refund_W0QQugidZ10000000004685951
There are other webpages explaining how this con happens ... and how
eBay continues to ignore this scam. So, at the moment, my cynicism is
splattering on everyone ... including harmless Iranians and Western
security agencies.
I have started my first-ever PayPal claim request ... and I have visions
of fraud running through my head. Also, is interesting how the technical
details of the fraud resolution chimes with my efforts with
programming/exploring the Linux community (just to make my rant slightly
on-topic).
