I understand your concern but (as one of the maintainers of Watcamp) I
do not share it. If people advertise events to the public that are
open to the public it is usually a good thing that others help spread
the word.

I am in touch with the organizer (Andre). What set of questions should
I ask that would give us enough information that we should be
associated?

I do know they are pursuing non-profit federally. I got the impression
they have it for Saskatchewan. 

I can ask about how they are funded, and whether they are actually a
non-profit. What else?

(These replies may come across as more defensive than I intend. I
don't have strong feelings one way or the other, although I lean
towards yes. I am trying to gather information to make a good
decision.)
