That's about right for SATA.  Read speed for harddisk can be fast, but
only for those in-line sectors as disk rotates.  Once the head moves,
who knows where it goes.  Also, there is difference between 'dd' kind of
read/write and 'cp' kind of read/write.

Forget AMD.  Go with Intel.
