I've bought UPS batteries from Metafore, which have an
office/plant/distribution facility in Waterloo:

Metafore Corporation
185 Weber St S
N2J 2B1 Waterloo
Phone: 888-999-4411 (that looks odd)
http://metafore.ca (caution: Javascrippled)

I figure that a UPS can have its batteries replaced maybe twice, then
it's better to get a new UPS. Given a three-year lifespan on
batteries, that means a new UPS every 9 years. Otherwise you end up
spending more on batteries than the UPS is worth, and after any 9 year
period there are bound to be such improvements in UPS and battery
technology that you'll save more buying a new UPS than buying new
old-tech batteries for an inefficient UPS.
