[kwlug-disc] OT: Crimping tool and RJ45 connectors?

I generally get things like that from The Source. Probably not the absolute
cheapest, but convenient and not too bad.

Their selection seems to have gone downhill though, especially for wall
plates. A big hardware store would be worth checking for comparison.

I think my crimper was more than 15 and less than 30 dollars from The
Source. It is all metal and works well enough for my use, which is making
maybe 2 cables per year. The main downfall is the part that removes the
outer sheath, it is difficult not to nick the twisted pairs. I have not
used high end ones so I can't compare.
