Remind me ... processes are patentable?

Isn't source code a representation or an iteration of a process?

I don't want to get into a flame war or too deeply into things here, 
but if two files (source code) implement the same process but are 
written in different languages (C vs. Java, say) ...

What a (continuing?) mess.
