But I've never tried that, so I could be wrong. Conversely, you could rip out the firmware and use it as a drive rack, I imagine. </div><div><br></div><div>What I did to set it up as a NAS was I connected a drive to my desktop, then loaded Ubuntu Server, then configured the IP, etc., from there. Then pop that drive into the NAS and adding three more drives via LVM. It worked fine for a few days then somehow stopped talking to me.
