I saw an article that mentioned that multi-process is actually disabled on Ubuntu because Ubuntu has the Ubuntu modifications extension which causes an issue with multi-process. Removing the Ubuntu modifications extension apparently re-enables multi-process.

My current version is 53.0.3 (Xubuntu 16.04), and it works well, with Auto Unload Tab, even with 400+ tabs (yes, I know, I know).<br />
