    Not sure "cheap" and "quality" can co-exist when it comes to UPS
    tech.<br>
    Good batteries cost real money, as do good controllers.<br>
    And if you care about what your insurance company thinks, whatever
    you plug into the wall should be CSA approved.<br>

       This model is discontinued, but the replacement units all have<br>
      hot-swappable batteries too. But it seems units with external<br>
      batteries don't fit your "cheap" criterion.<br>
