Yes, it's coming from the VPS.
Curious it's only gmail unhappy.
I can't say I know what it should be set to - mail.kwlug.org / drupal can't be impacted by this. These are all @kwlug.org (outgoing) addresses. There is no and never will be a mail server here - outgoing / notifications only.

AFAIK, there can only be one reverse IP to name mapping. So it's not clear to me what to suggest. (It will never be able to get back, and I can't know what e-mail addresses might be used by other parts of the server later.

-----

Help me understand ... Linux boxes all over the world have (internal) mail baked in - even internal notifications work that way. It's only a small step from that to sending the notification externally, and @gmail has to be a frequent destination. Especially with dynamic ip addresses - everybody can't set their reverse ip! Huh? (Grumble, at gmail, not you.)

[Let alone direct send to cpanel2 from Thunderbird identity just worked. Which wasn't from the vps.]
It's authenticated and relaying through cpanel2.indieserve.net

<http://cpanel2.indieserve.net>? If so, should be fine. If you were
sending it directly from the VPS we'll need to set reverse lookup DNS
for the IP (I can do that, just let me know what you want it set to).
So on a Debian Jessie machine, I'm trying to get system notification
mail messages out to real e-mail so I actually find out something
happened. Like an unattended-upgrade failure.

I understand that default installs auto install localhost mail
facilities only. So I've installed msmtp and it's largely entirely
working.

However, e-mail to gmail accounts never seem to land. @live.ca

<http://live.ca> just works, instantly even. Yahoo and another
non-gmail provider too.

In all cases, cpanel2.indieserve.net <http://cpanel2.indieserve.net>
swallows up the message without error.

Just nothing ever arrives when sent to @gmail.com <http://gmail.com>.

Anyone have any ideas?

Or is this something needing configuration on mail.kwlug.org

<http://mail.kwlug.org>, like DKIM, or some other bizarreness?

Thanks for any thoughts.
