Hello kwlug-disc,

This is my first post to the list. I have attended the last 2 KWLUG
meetings. I have been involved with Linux for several years (since
Ubuntu 9 anyway). I am currently running Xubuntu 16.04 on a Thinkpad
T61 and Lubuntu 14.04 on an Aspire One netbook. I also have a file
server with FreeNAS (FreeBSD based) installed, (currently in the
testing phase), and a windows 7 desktop. On the horison is another
linux desktop (probably Kubuntu).

I live in Guelph and am involved with the Didital Civil Liberties
Association, a Guelph based group that meets occasionally to discuss
matters such as such as privacy,
censorship, security, copyright, etc. Although not explicitly a
Linux focussed group, it turns out
that most members run Linux (probably because we are all self
selected to be security and privacy conscious.)

My current projects include:

1. Burning in the FreeNAS server and putting it online and
2. Developing a "Gardenbot" gravity (rainbarrel) fed garden
watering system (likely Rasberry Pi or Arduino controlled) and
3. Developing a secure method of generating Bitcoin addresses for
an offline savings wallet (Currenlty
trying live Linux distributions, specifically the Tails OS because
of it's amnesiac quality.

best regards,

Scott
