Reading most of it, I'm getting an itchy feeling on the back of my neck that their real goal is to permit commercial / proprietary / for pay core packages to seep into today's distros.<br>

And that they don't get we don't want to be bothered with unending fiddly bit updates that largely bring no value - stable, get on with our day of using, update when all the valuable links in the chain vet the value of the update.<div class="im HOEnZb">
