When I started with Linux/Ubuntu a scant 5 or 6 years ago I missed having SU around.*<br>
Just the other day, I discovered SU is back, in Ubuntu 12.04 (maybe earlier but I had not looked).<br>

SU, brought unto play with $ sudo su<ENTER>, really helps with configuration work.<br>
<br>
* I remember SU and SU's parent UNIX and the cousin XENIX from the old days.<br>
