<div dir="ltr">I boot Ubuntu 13.10 from USB on my (low-end) Asus Win 8 laptop. It took me awhile to figure it out. I can leave all the <span id="ac3c90d5-2ee3-49ab-961f-4af99ac3f187" class="GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark">fastboot</span> and <span id="d9c321cf-c706-4fca-9203-20c4565c7044" class="GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark">secureboot</span> settings alone, if I hit the ESC key to get a boot menu. But it has to be Ubuntu 12.10 or above to work. I believe I read there's only 1 other <span id="a9a5daee-623e-4a07-be0f-a1744c54c2c2" class="GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark">distro</span> (Redhat??) that can do this.<div>
