I think what we need is less wimpy politicians, especially in the Conservative caucus, that will be able to understand and clarify why TPMs in copyright are such a bad idea. This is the party that alleges to respect property rights and rule of law, and have clearly not given this issue adequate thought.</p>
<p>Would be nice if our southern neighbors would deal with their democracy deficit, which would fix USTR and USPTO from being private interest lobby groups. Lessig moved from Copyright to "Fix Congress first" for a reason.</p>
<p>We're not yet in as bad situation in Canada.</p>
