Further OT

One of the cornerstone books on cooking that would appeal to nearly all
Geeky Foodies is "On Food and Cooking - The Science and Lore of the Kitchen"
by Harold McGee. It was out of print for a while but was revised and
re-released not so long ago.
Richard and I could not decide whether this webform submission was too
spammy for the list or not. It's definitely borderline, in my opinion,
and I could have easily gone the other way.

I guess I am forwarding it because it is the kind of item I might
include at the bottom of a kwlug-announce post on request -- a local
event intended for our demographic. But maybe that is a lousy
criterion.
I LOVE this book. It’s inspiring, invigorating, and damned fun to spend
Cooking for Geeks, a new cookbook by Jeff Potter, is probably the
best science-meets-the-kitchen book to come out. Ever.
