The lug right now is primarily a group of reasonably advanced linux
users. And while most folks in the lug are advocates, the lug itself
doesn't really do advocacy. It's a group of enthusiasts sharing their
enthusiasm - that's what it is.

If the lug is looking for it's current mission, or things to do on it's
website, and under it's current methodology, it should probably focus
on stuff that matters to enthusiasts.

Personally I prefer the advocacy tangent myself. Specifically,
advocating linux out to the masses. Like getting the word out to local
businesses on an asterisk installfest. Or local music officiandos on
an installfest of a media center or something. Offer a forum for linux
assistance. And so on. But let me be clear - I'm not advocating that
the lug start doing this. Just contrasting with what I see the lug is
actually doing with what some folks have discussed in the past. I
think going the advocacy route would be a huge change in direction for
the lug and again I'm not suggesting it :).
guess one thing I would like to see on the site is more comprehensive
info about my fellow members. I don't know all of the issues about
privacy and what info should be posted, but I would like to see more
about skills, interests, maybe a picture? I guess maybe I could leave
it up to myspace and facebook; but, I don't use these sites and won't.
I do use linkdin, but ...

That's what I think anyhow.
