[kwlug-disc] free shells

So I find myself with excess VM capacity, and since I don't want it
to go to waste while it's sitting there waiting for me to get around
to it, I'd like to experiment with a little community sharing.
The VM is in the OVH cloud, a 4core, 8G RAM, 75G SSD, 400Mbps bandwidth
machine. It is running Debian Trixie 13.
If you have a project that could make use of a shell on a machine like
that, contact me with:
- your public ssh key
- some idea or project you'd like to use it for
If you're not sure if your project qualifies, ask me anyway. I'm more
interested in a friendly shell community than extreme productivity.
I have a local IRC server setup on localhost for whoever joins.
This way private chats, configurations, api keys or whatever can
be shared, along with admin requests, in real time. You can find
me in #kwlug with:
ssh in...
irssi
/connect localhost
/join #kwlug
The shell machine is kwlug.foursquare.net, port 22 as usual.
It is running nginx as the webserver. I can setup homedir webservices
if needed.
For now, only I have root, so expect some growing pains as I respond
to any requests for software installations or config changes.
I can't guarantee the machine will be up forever, but 6 months is
likely, and more depending how successful this experiment is.
Remember, this holds the kwlug name, so let's do something positive
with it.
Thanks,
- Chris
